The role of each parameter of the laser handheld welding machine

The role of each parameter of the laser handheld welding machine

As the most widely used laser welding equipment at present, laser hand-held welding is mainly used for welding thin-walled materials and precision parts. It has the advantages of small weld width, small heat-affected zone, small thermal deformation, fast welding speed, and smooth and beautiful welds. . A good welding effect is inseparable from the precise setting of laser handheld welding power and parameters, so what is the role of each parameter? Come learn more from MEN-LUCK, a professional laser welding equipment manufacturer!

There are many parameter setting items for the laser hand-held welding machine. If you want to achieve what kind of welding effect, you must make corresponding settings. The commonly used parameters are pulse width, pulse frequency, pulse waveform, laser pulse energy, laser welding power, laser peak power, etc.

Laser welding power: It is one of the most critical parameters in laser processing. The laser power is low. It takes several milliseconds for the temperature of the board material to reach the boiling point. Before the surface layer is vaporized, the bottom layer reaches the melting point, forming a good fusion welding. In conductive laser welding, the power density is in the range of 104~106W/cm2. When the laser power is high, it will be heated to the melting point within microseconds to generate a large amount of gasification. This kind of high-power laser is suitable for cutting, drilling and engraving operations.

Laser peak power: The instantaneous power of the laser when it actually emits light. The laser peak power is equal to the average power divided by the duty cycle. Generally, it is on the order of several kilowatts. Average laser power: The actual output laser power is approximately equal to 2-3% of the average injected electric power.

Laser pulse energy: refers to the energy output by a single pulse, which is determined by the capacity of the energy storage capacitor, voltage and xenon lamp. This is an important indicator. During spot welding, the stability of single point energy has a great influence on the quality of laser welding.

Pulse waveform: Pulse waveform is also a very important parameter in welding, especially for sheet welding. When the high-intensity laser beam is irradiated on the surface of the material, the energy on the metal surface will be reflected and lost, and the reflectivity changes with the surface temperature. During a pulse, the metal reflectivity changes greatly.

Pulse width: As one of the important parameters of pulse welding, pulse width is not only an important parameter different from material removal and material melting, but also a key parameter that determines the cost and volume of processing equipment.

Pulse Frequency: The number of times a laser pulse repeats per second. If the laser pulse frequency is small, the laser spots will be loose; if the pulse frequency is high, the laser spots will be dense, and the welding place will look smoother.
