The new trend of hand-held welding in the future — laser hand-held welding

The new trend of hand-held welding in the future — laser hand-held welding

Laser welding is high-efficiency and precise welding using a high-energy-density laser beam as a heat source, but laser welding requires a very high machining accuracy of the workpiece. If the position is shifted, and the workpiece assembly accuracy or beam positioning accuracy does not meet the requirements, welding defects will be formed, which will limit the technological capability of laser welding to a certain extent.

Given the problems of the above laser welding technology, the market has also developed a laser welding method of double wedge laser vibration according to these problems, which is realized by configuring a special wobble vibration module on the welding head. The emergence of wobble welding technology enables laser welding to be applied in a wider range of places, and laser-efficient and precise welding can be achieved for larger workpieces and workpieces with wider weld seams.

Handheld laser welding technology advantages

In traditional welding, a collimated beam is vibrated by a single-axis galvanometer to perform laser vibration welding, and the light spot focused by the focusing mirror moves relative to the workpiece in cooperation with the welding head to form a weld with a certain amplitude, and frequency and offset.

Compared with the first two vibration welding modes, the double wedge mirror rotary vibration welding uses the vibration module installed between the collimating mirror and the focusing mirror, so that the focusing spot can generate a helical welding seam when the welding head moves. When the focusing focal length is the same, the larger the twist angle, the greater the vibration amplitude; when the twist angle is the same, the greater the focusing focal length, the greater the vibration amplitude. Double-wedge vibration welding can widen the weld and achieve better weld formability at the same time.
